On May 22nd, 2024, the first batch of typical villages in Guangdong's "Millions of High-quality Development Program" - the road improvement and renovation project around Xiaonan Village in Longkou Town, Heshan City, was successfully completed. The project is jointly implemented by South China University of Technology, Central Fortune Creation Technology Group Co., Ltd, Longkou Town Government of Heshan City, and China Railway Fifth Bureau for public welfare assistance, with a project implementation area of 17545 square meters.
Heshan, located in the the Pearl River Delta, is the bridgehead from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area to western Guangdong, as well as the place where Lingnan culture, Hakka culture and overseas Chinese culture converge. Heshan is making every effort to build a typical county of the "Millions of High-quality Development Program" in the province, and taking solid steps to strive for becoming one of the top 100 industrial counties in China and leading the high-quality development of Guangdong counties. There are a total of 2 towns and 10 villages in the county that have been selected as the first batch of typical towns and villages in Guangdong's "Millions of High-quality Development Program", including Xiaonan Village.
Xiaonan Village is located in Longkou Town, Heshan City, with a history of over 740 years and profound cultural heritage. It is a gathering place for the descendants of the Xianbei ethnic group, the Genji clan, and has 8 natural villages under its jurisdiction, covering an area of approximately 2.6 square kilometers. In recent years, Xiaonan Village has adhered to the leadership of party building, fully utilizing the unique charm of overseas Chinese and Xianbei culture, focusing on improving the rural living environment and building a beautiful countryside.

It is understood that both the Huancun Road and the Provincial Road S270 in front of Xiaonan Village in Longkou Town are made of cement concrete pavement. With the increase of service life, the aging of the pavement is becoming increasingly apparent, which has seriously affected the appearance of the village and the travel of villagers. Improving the quality of village road infrastructure construction has become one of the key entry points for the "Millions of High-quality Development Program" in Xiaonan Village.

In the paired assistance process of the "Millions of High-quality Development Program", Central Fortune Creation Technology Group Co., Ltd fully leveraged its technological advantages as a technology transfer enterprise of South China University of Technology in the field of high-performance asphalt materials and ultra-thin wear layers, accurately aligned with the development needs of roads in Xiaonan Village, Heshan, actively participated in renovation projects, and made every effort to create a demonstration benchmark project. Repair and quality improvement renovation will be carried out on the 500 meter main road section from Chigang Village in Heshan to Xiaonan Village, including the Huancun Road in Xiaonan Village, Longkou Town, and the S270 Provincial Road in front of the village. The total implementation area of the project is approximately 17545 square meters.
Before the renovation, there were road diseases such as road settlement, road fragmentation and cracking in the proposed road section. In response to the existing problems, during the project implementation process, Central Fortune Creation Technology Group Co., Ltd and the co construction unit carried out overall repair of the original road surface defects and defects through methods such as precision milling and joint filling, and used the independently developed 2cm PG100 high toughness ultra-thin asphalt friction course for paving. During this period, we overcame difficulties such as unpredictable weather and dense pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and completed the construction of the entire road section with high standards and efficiency.

During the implementation process, leaders such as the Heshan Municipal Party Committee, Longkou Town Government, Jiangmen Highway Affairs Center, Heshan Highway Affairs Center, and the "Millions of High-quality Development Program" stationed service team of South China University of Technology conducted on-site research in Xiaonan Village, listened to project progress reports, and had in-depth exchanges on the promotion and application of high toughness and ultra-thin wear layer technology. We adopted ultra-thin asphalt friction course technology, which has low driving noise, high anti-skid coefficient, strong crack resistance, and long-lasting blackening after opening up traffic. It effectively improves the travel environment of villagers and also plays a role in improving the appearance of Xiaonan Village."
